PURPOSE/MISSION
The Director of the Office of Religious affirms that Religious Life is a gift to the Church. The Director is a witness to the Bishop’s and to the Diocesan commitment to support and encourage religious women and men who serve in the Church of the Youngstown Diocese. The Bishop’s manifest concern and regard for Religious is reflected through the service of the Director of the Office of Religious.
- Areas of Responsibility of the Director:
- The Director accepts responsibility in the name of the Bishop for the Religious women and men currently living and/or serving within the Diocese.
- The Director seeks to integrate Religious fully into the pastoral services in the Diocese. This office esteems the charism of individual Religious Communities and encourages each Community’s participation in the variety of ministries called for by the Church.

- Diocesan Conference of Religious Committee (DCR)
- Religious Retirement Fund Appeal (Chair)
- Staff:
- The Director is the only professional staff person.

SPECIAL PROJECTS
- Retirement Fund for Religious Annual Appeal
- Jubilee Celebration
- World Day for Consecrated Life Celebration
- Maintain/supply accurate records on Religious in the Diocese. Update the Master File and Data Sheets.
- Regularly forward updated contact information of Religious in the Diocese to the Communications Department.
- Coordinate with the Safe Environment Coordinator, making sure all Religious follow the guidelines set forth by the Diocese.
- Fingerprint screening and completion of Safe Environment Policy training required
